Garrett Dash Nelson is the Curator of Maps & Director of Geographic Scholarship at the Leventhal Map & Education Center at the Boston Public Library. He works on the relationship between historical geography, community structure, cartographic representation, and the politics of place. He holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, an MA in Landscape & Culture from the University of Nottingham, and an AB in Social Studies and Visual & Environmental Studies from Harvard College.
